Guide · Amazon listings
Amazon listing optimisation: titles, images & A+
Shoppers decide in seconds. A listing has to do two jobs at once: get found in search, and get bought on the page. Most listings fail the second job.
Title: search + human, in that order
Put the main search term first, then the key differentiator (size, pack, material, use). No keyword stuffing, no ALL CAPS, no brand-name spam. If a human would not read it aloud, rewrite it.
Bullets: benefits, not specs
- Bullet 1: who it is for + main outcome.
- Bullets 2–4: the 3 reasons to pick this one over the next listing.
- Last bullet: what is in the box + care / warranty / fit notes that stop returns.
Images: the real conversion lever
- Main image: product only, on white, fills the frame, Amazon-compliant.
- Images 2–4: scale, use, and details a shopper cannot tell from the title.
- Images 5–7: lifestyle, comparison, and what is included. No text-heavy infographics as the main image.
Backend terms + A+
Backend search terms: synonyms, misspellings, and use-cases — no repeats of title words, no brand names you do not own. A+ content (Brand Registry): comparison chart, feature blocks, and brand story — it lifts conversion and reduces "is this the right one?" questions.
Checklist before you run ads
- Title readable + main term first
- 5 bullets, benefit-led
- 7 images, main image compliant
- Backend terms filled, no stuffing
- A+ live (if Brand Registered)
- Price vs top 5 competitors checked
- Reviews: reply to recent negatives
Rule: never run PPC to a listing that does not convert. Fix the listing first, then pay for traffic.
